Biography

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Michalski is an internationally recognized expert on questions of long-term development in the area of economics, social life and technology and their impact on decisions in economy and politics. He his executive chairman of WM International Group Ltd., a consultancy firm specialized on the analysis and counselling of enterprises, governments and international organizations. For more than twenty years, 1980 to 2001, Wolfang Michalski was head of the planning unit of the Organization for Economic Development (OECD) in Paris. A particular focus of his work was early identification and analysis of future problems in national and international ecnomic policy.

Wolfgang Michalski’s publications - altogether twelve books and over 120 contributions to compilations and professional journals - deal with problems of economic, social and technological long-term development and questions of economic growth, structural change and international trade policy. They have been translated into more than ten languages.

Besides of his activity as consultant, Wolfgang Michalski is a highly frequented speaker at international congresses, professional conferences and company seminars. In the past years he held speeches and guest lectures in the member countries of the European Union and Switzerland and additionally in Japan, Canada, Korea, Morocco, Mexico, South Africa and the United States.
